Joshua Foss

We'd like to introduce you to our good friend, environmental activist and all around great dude, Joshua Foss!

Joshua Foss is a leading green building, design, and lifestyle expert. He is an outspoken advocate for sustainable development and has made numerous trade show and television appearances throughout North America.

Foss, a LEED Accredited Professional, runs Thrive Design Studio out of Minneapolis. Through Thrive, he creates inspiring spaces, experiences, and events that transform the way people interact with each other and their environment. Supporting his work with Thrive, Joshua stays active in various local, national, and international networks. He has been a contract designer for the US Green Building Council and is a volunteer presenter for the Living Building Challenge, the most transformational and aggressive building standard ever created. In addition, he carries a master’s degree in Strategic Leadership Towards Sustainability from the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden.

Joshua has leveraged several unique platforms to share his background and interest in transformational design. He was recently appointed adjunct faculty for Minneapolis College of Art and Design’s Sustainable Design Online Certificate program. He leads a course which builds a baseline understanding of all the frameworks and principles that shape a thorough understanding of sustainable design.

And as an outlet to share some of these world changing ideas with the masses, Joshua started the design and lifestyle journal Metro Hippie back in 2007. It has gained international attention by highlighting exciting projects, products and ideas in a very personal and colorful way.
